How to take Reductil

If you are ready to tackle your weight problem and make the lasting changes in your lifestyle to ensure that excess weight stays off, you are ready for Reductil. But Reductil is not a magic pill, and it does not instantly melt away unwanted fat deposits. You should think of Reductil as a crucial tool to help your long-term goal of weigh loss and maintenance.

Reductil works as one part of a three-part programme, the other two parts being sensible eating habits and increased exercise. It will help you feel full and satisfied after eating your healthy meals and prevent the cravings and hunger pangs normally associated with dieting, which all too often tempt dieters to forgo their dieting attempts. After consultation with your diet advisor, doctor or other health professional, you will be ready to purchase Reductil and embark on your new regime.

Reductil comes in two dose strengths, 10mg and 15mg capsules. It is recommended that users start with the 10mg dosage level, swallowing one capsule per day with a glass of water, with or without food. Taking it at the same time of day, preferably in the morning, it advisable. If you forget your daily tablet, do not take another Reductil dose until the appropriate time the next day when it is due – do not double up. The active ingredient in Reductil is absorbed fairly quickly and starts working after approximately 30 minutes in the body.

It is advisable to cut down or omit completely any alcohol whilst taking Reductil, for two reasons. Firstly, Reductil may have a slight tendency to increase the sedative effect of drinking. But more importantly, alcohol provides only empty calories which can often be one of the causes of weight gain, so cutting it out will help in your efforts to eat healthily and stick to your diet plan.

Your blood pressure should be monitored during the first three months of your Reductil programme, and you should refrain from operating machinery or driving for the initial few days until you are certain there are no negative side effects. If, after three months of taking Reductil, there is no or very little weight loss, your health professional or dietician may advise increasing to the 15mg Reductil dosage.

Your weight, diet and exercise routine should be carefully monitored to ensure you are on target to lose around 5 -10% of your initial weight within the first three months. Reductil can be safely used for up to 12 consecutive months, after which you should once again consult your doctor or health advisor for a check-up and review of your weight loss programme. It is most important to realise that the lifestyle changes of eating a balanced, low-fat diet full of fruit and vegetables and making the effort to take regular exercise need to be continued permanently after you stop taking Reductil. If you don’t, and go back to your previous lifestyle, you will be at risk of regaining the weight you have just lost back on through over-eating and inactivity, and all your hard work will be undone.
